In this post, I have written about possible references to India made by Nostradamus in the Quatrains or Predictions contained in Les Propheties, also called The Centuries of Nostradamus. The Prophecies of Nostradamus are generating great interest at the present moment because of the current global situation, and hence, it is not possible to ignore them.
In 2009 and 2010, I wrote numerous articles on the Prophecies of Nostradamus, especially those connected to India, the Great War, natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanoes, and nuclear war. These articles can be seen in the section Prophecies and Predictions. As explained above, the Predictions of Nostradamus are evoking great interest, hence, I am once again writing on this topic after a long time.
I have listed some possible interpretations related to India (in the context of World War III):
1] The King of the East Prophecy:
Many interpreters believe that the "King of the East" refers to a powerful leader or power from Asia. India is a large country in Asia, while some associate it with India (or China).
2] The Three Great Powers Will Meet Prophecy:
In some quatrains, Nostradamus has indicated that three great powers will come together in the future. Many speculate that in the future India will emerge as a global power and may be part of an alliance (such as Russia-India-China or America-India) in World War III.
The predictions are unclear on whether India will jump directly into the war during the Third World War. But there are some indications that India can become a "mediator power," that is, India can play a role in calming down the war or bringing about a compromise. India can become a representative of solutions, not destruction, in war.
3] Religion, War, and India:
Some of Nostradamus' predictions talk about religious conflicts. With South Asia being a stronghold of various religions, some scholars believe that India could be the center of a religious conflict or a major change. Many of Nostradamus' predictions speak of a "new spiritual age" coming, especially after a major destruction (great war).
India, which has been a center of yoga, meditation, spirituality, and nonviolence, could play a major role in leading this new age. This could mean that the influence of Indian philosophy and spirituality will increase in the world.

4] India's Future after the Great War:
Some interpretations say that after the Third World War, India will be even more powerful economically and culturally — that is, the impact of the World War on India will be more positive than negative, and reconstruction will be more positive.
The Quatrain listed below is not a direct quote, but an example for interpretation:
"Twice put up and twice cast down,
The East will weaken the West,
Its adversary, after several battles chased by sea, will fail at the time of need."
Here, the power of the "East" weakens the West — some experts see this as a sign of increased power of eastern countries like India or China.
5] Conclusion about Naming India By Nostradamus:
Nostradamus did not name India. But India's place in his predictions of "power coming from the East" and "new world power" is possible.
India can play a decisive, positive role in WW3, and can emerge more after the war. Some scholars believe that after the Third World War, Western powers (such as the US, Europe) will weaken and Asia (India, China) will rise to global leadership.
Because of its population, technological advancement, and cultural power, India will emerge as a balancing force in the world. That is, after the war, India could become a superpower economically, militarily, and culturally. Nostradamus has mentioned "new world power" and "power from the East" in many places.
6. Natural disasters and India:
Nostradamus also predicted major natural disasters on Earth (earthquakes, floods, epidemics). India, with its huge population and geographical diversity, may be affected by some disasters.
But in the long run, India will emerge as a leader in reconstruction and innovation. There will be some challenges (natural disasters, limited war impact), but India will emerge victorious.
