Immense Benefits of Mantra Sadhana in Brahma Muhurta

A Sanskrit verse says that one can only gain the immense benefits of Brahma Muhurta only by doing Nidra-Tyag or Sacrificing Sleep. Brahma Muhurta is the period falling during the 4th Prahar of the night and generally it falls between 4AM to 5AM in the morning.

Immense importance has been given to the period of Brahma Muhurta in ancient Indian religious scriptures. Great Rishi and Munis, in their preachings have always stressed upon the benefits, which can be derived by performing Mantra Sadhana and other religious rituals during the Brahma Muhurta.

This site has also over the past many years been publishing some Mantra Sadhanas, which are most beneficial if performed during the Brahma Muhurta.

Especially for lay-persons, I should mention that the atmosphere is at its healthiest levels during the period of the Brahma Muhurta and this refreshes the Prana or life-energy present in the mind and body. This makes the mind calm and composed and makes them vibrates positively and powerfully in this calm, composed and pure atmosphere and aids in performing any task undertaken during this period, including Mantra Sadhanas.

Sanskrit Verse on the Importance of Brahma Muhurta

The main purpose of writing the post, is for the benefit of those readers who have inquired about ways and means to worship and Meditate upon their Favored Deity or  Ishta Devta or how to contemplate and try to find their Ishta Devta. The article on Ishta Devta can be seen here - How you can try and find who is your Ishta Devta..

For the benefits of these readers, I must mention that the Brahma Muhurta is the ideal period for worshiping or meditating and appeasing your Ishta Devta by concentrating your mind and energy upon your Ishta Devta. Any Mantra Sadhana, which invokes the Ishta Devta could be most fruitful if performed during the Brahma Muhutra.

It is also worthwhile to mentions that most Shakshatkar Denewale Sapne, Shubh Samachar Dene Wale Sapne and Sache Hone Wale Sapne [dreams of visions of gods and goddesses, dreams giving good news and dreams which become true]  fall during the period of the Brahma Muhurta.

This proves the point that the pure and healthy atmosphere of the Brahma Muhurta even affects the mind and body of a sleeping person as the truth enters his sub-conscious mind.

If you are a student, scholar or researcher, you can take advantage of this most beneficial period for getting success in your studies or research.

  2. Namaste Neel Sir,

I´ve tried to search and read about Brahma Muhurta, and there are different thoughts of the time it falls in.

Some places say its 1h before Sunrise, Others say its 2h to 2h30min before sunrise..

Although you´ve just said that in the post, 4-5 am, which I guess this is a standard approx. time for India, but for people in foreign countries, like me, tend to have problems with this, due to time changes in summer and winter (if we are supposed to take in consideration timings of 1h or 2h...)

Should we take 4-5 am as Standard for Brahma Muhurta?

    Thank you sir
