Benefits and Importance of Panchajanya Shankh
The Panchajanya Shankh is probably the most famous of the Hindu sacred conch shells as it is said be extremely dear to Bhagwan Shri Krishna. Most people will have come across Hindu Mythological paintings and statues of Shri Krishna blowing the Panchajanya Shankh to herald in the Great War of the Mahabharata. The Panchajanya Shankh and its origin have been described in detail in the Srimad Bhagavata Purana. In this post, I have described the paranormal importance and benefits of keeping the Panchajanya Shankh in the home according to Vastu Shastra.
The Panchajanya Shankh is normally found on certain seas coasts and the Kailash Manasarovar. The Panchajanya Shankh has great importance in Vastu Shastra as it is said to free the house from all kinds of Vastu Doshas. It is also believed that the Panchajanya Shankh possesses certain specific paranormal properties, which enable it to balance the circulation of the Pancha Tattva inside the house. The Pancha Tattva or the Five Elements – Fire [Agni], Earth [Prithvi], Jal [Water], Vayu [Air] and Aakash [Sky] are the basic building blocks of the Universe and hence Vastu Shastra considers it extremely importance to have a proper balance of the Five Elements inside a dwelling.
The Panchajanya Shankh is always said to be in a Jagarut or Awakened State and hence the Sthapana or Pranpratishtha of this Shankh in the house can be performed in any manner, which is suitable to the possessor of the Shankh. Vastu Shastra prescribes that the Panchajanya Shankh should be installed in the center of the house near the main door or buried one foot under the floor in an inverted position in the Ishan Kone or the North Eastern Corner of the house and a Havan should be performed in that place. It is said that blowing the Panchajanya Shankh instills fear and dread in the minds of enemies and opponents and hence it is also considered to be most beneficial in gaining the upper hand in litigation, disputes and all legal and court related matters. Installing the Panchajanya Shankh in the house is also said to make the house secure from harmful unseen mystical entities and the blowing of the Shankh will make them leave the house and its surroundings.

Sir I got an panchanjanya sankh buried under the earth, when the construction of our home took place. Many told its a good sign. And we should kip it & worship it. And my astrologer, whom i always look up to said it's good, but you can't maintain its purity, and etc..so u shud place it in some water which flows..i took and placed it near a shiva temple where water flows in blind speed within rocks...it was under foot when found..and while digging, it got scratched also.. did i make any mistake while doing so?
ReplyDeleteSince you removed the Shankh from your house, there should be no problem if you have accidently damaged the Shankh.
DeleteHowever, a damaged Shankh should not be kept in the house.
