Mantra for Diwali Padwa Balipratipada
Diwali Padwa -Balipratipada and Maha Saraswati Poojan, which is a most auspicious Diwali Tithi, falls this year on the 12th November 2015. This day is celebrated in most parts of India according to local traditions and customs. Bali Pratipada is said to be that day of the year when Bali, the King of the Rakshasas returns to the earth, after his defeat and the subsequent Boon he received from Shri Vamana, the fifth Avatar of Vishnu as the Drawl Brahmin.
Diwali Padwa is also dedicated as the day to strengthen the love, affection and the marital bond between the husband and wife. On this day, the wife rotates a Oil Diya in front of the husband and a applies Kumkum Tilak along with some Rice Grains on his forehead and put a piece of Mithai in his mouth. The husband in return gives a gift to the wife.
Businesspersons also perform Maha Saraswati Poojan by making new entries in their accounting books and ledgers and worshipping them. The specific Pooja timings for the worship of books are published in this Post.
There is a specific Bali Mantra Sadhana, which is performed at the time of Pradosha[Sunset ] by placing a Photo or idol of Bali Raja upon a Pile of Grains and then chanting the Bali Mantra shown by me in the image 11 times. This Bali Puja is to seek the blessings of Bali and also to beget a Male-Offspring that is if the couple is trying to beget a Son.
Gambling is also considered to be auspicious on the day of Diwali Padwa, but I would not advise it for obvious reasons.
