Shiva Kundalini Rising Meditation Mantra

The Dakshinamurti Shiva [दक्षिणामूर्ति शिवा] Upasana is an important ritual for the seekers of spiritual upliftment, especially those residing in the Southern States of India. The probable origin of the worship of the Dakshina Murti Shiva, meaning the Shiva who faces the South, can be traced back to Adi Shankara and his divine composition, the Dakshinamurti Stotram, which describes Shiva as the true source of the highest form of knowledge.

The meaning of the Dakshinamurti Stotra is extremely profound and can only be clearly understood by those striving for spiritual upliftment or those seeking Kundalini awakening and trying to open the Sahasrara Chakra, the 1000 Petals on the crown of the head, the doorway to the highest knowledge.

Adi Shankara describes the Dakshinamurti Shiva as the “the One giving the real knowledge of the Ever-Existent”  the “One who removes the false illusion and shows the true Universal Light” the “ One who shows, what lies behind, when the Mask is lifted”

The Dashinamurti Stotra, is not, in my opinion a prayer or a mantra, but a description of the Source of the acquisition of the highest divine knowledge of the Universal Light, symbolized by Shiva as the Guru, imparting this knowledge. The Dakshinamurti Stotra is certainly recommended reading for the aspirants of Kundalini Awakening and the ones striving for spiritual progress. Kundalini Power Seekers, should try to read as many versions of the translation as possible as the meanings attributed by various translators might differ.

For those wishing to Meditate on this form of Shiva as the Dakshinamurti Guru, the simple four word mantra given below is sufficient.
