Rabindranath Tagore on Silence
These little Gems composed by Rabindranath Tagore, the great philosopher, poet is descriptive of the one and only state of the human mind, the state of pure silence which leads to that elusive state of Non Duality where the observer and the observed become one. The all encompassing silence lives in everything, and everything lives inside it.
What language is thine, O sea?
The language of eternal question.
What language is thy answer, O sky?
The language of eternal silence.
Sit still my heart; do not raise your dust.
Let the world find its way to you.
The fish in the water is silent, the animal on the earth is noisy, the bird in the air is singing,
But Man has in him the silence of the sea, the noise of the earth and the music of the air.
This highly Spiritual short poem in four lines describes the natural state of the MEDITATION OF SILENCE. The numerous practitioners of Non-Duality and Meditation must remember that the answer to the most common question asked- How to Meditate ?, is don’t try to cultivate a method through which the mind stills, becomes clam, relaxed and is in a natural state of Silence.
Do not bother much about the opening of THE SEVEN CHAKRAS. When this state of natural silence is achieved the Chakras will start functioning at their optimum level and will start opening on their own.
