Mahalaxmi Aarti - English - Marathi

Mahalaxmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth and prosperity. She is also considered to be the epitome of femanity.On the higher levels of spirituality she is said to the Adi-Shakti or the Universal mother.Mahalaxmi has eight secondary manifestations divided according to the functions they fulfill.

This Aarti in the Marathi Language is recited in praise of Mahalaxmi.The Aarti praises the Goddess and highlights the role which she plays to guide and protect humanity. The Aarti also describes how she saved humanity from the demons Mahishasur,Chand and Chamund and Kolhasur.

Mahalaxmi is also the patron Goddess of the city of Kolhapur, which is host to the very famous and widely visited Mahalaxmi temple. The Aarti also mentions the famous Mahalaxmi temple in Nashik.

Kaalika kaamroop shakti tu jagnmate l

Vaishnavi bhumatra mulpheet devte l

आरती घेउनियां ओंवाळीन मी तूंते ॥ ध्रु० ॥

अंबिका भद्रकाली देवी आद्या कुमारी l

मारिलें चंडमुंड महिषासुर हे वैरी l

हर्षले देवद्विज गाती जयजयकारी l

उजळून दीपमाळा ओंवाळीती नरनारी ll जय.ll२ ll

परिधान हेमवर्ण कंठीं नवरत्नें हार l

करतळें रातोत्पळें अद्भुत जयजयकार l

अवतार कोल्हापुरी केला प्रताप थोर l

नासिकीं मुक्ताफळ रत्नकुंड श्रवणीं l

घवघवीत नेपुरें हो अंदु वाजती चरणीं l

मस्तकीं पुष्पहार दिसे भासे वदनीं l

पौर्णिमाचंद्रबिंब पृष्ठीवरी रुळे वेणी ॥ जय.॥ ४ ॥

नवकोटी कात्यायनी चतुःषष्टी योगिनी l

भूचरां जलचरां आई तुजपासुनी l

ऐसी तूं महालक्ष्मी जगताची जननी l

नामया विष्णुदासा तुझें चिंतन ध्यानीं ॥ जय.॥ ५ ll
