Ganga Aarti - English - Marathi

The river Ganga is considered as the holiest river in the Hindu religion.Ganga is not only considered as a river but as a Goddess.The river Ganga which is the largest river in India , is also the national river of India. Many cities are situated on the banks of the Ganga, and some of these cities like Haridwar and Varanasi amongst others are important places of pilgrimage for Hindus.

It is believed that a bath in the Ganga, cleanses one from the past Karma. Many devote Hindu keep some water of the Ganga in a bottled state in their homes.

This is an Aarti recited in praise of Ganga in the Marathi Language.

Mate darshanmatre prani udharsi l

Harisi paatak avdhe jag paavan karisi l

Dushkarmi mi rachilya papanchya rashi l

Harhar aata smarto gati hoil kaisi ll 1 ll

Jay devi jaydevi jay gangabai l

Paavan kari maj stavar vishwache aai l

Padle prasang taishi karme acharlo l

Vishayanche mohane tyantchi rat jhalo l

Tyache yoge dushkrutsindhut tya budalo l

Tyatuni majla taarisi ya hetune aalo ll Jay.ll 2 ll

Nirdaay yamdoot neti ya samayi rakhi l

Shali yamdharmachya khatyantil baaki l

Matsangati jan avdhe tariyele tvaa ki l

Urlo paahe ekchi mi patitanpaiki ll Jay.ll 3 ll

Adharne jaykarune vinvitse bhave l

Nupeshi maj aata tvtpaatri dhayve l

पावन करि मज सत्वर विश्वाचे आई ll धृ,ll

पडले प्रसंग तैशी कर्मे आचरलों l

विषयांचे मोहाने त्यांतचि रत झालो l

त्याचे योगें दुष्कृतसिंधूत त्या बुडलो l

निर्दय यमदूत नेती या समायी राखीं l

क्षाळी यमधर्माच्या खांत्यातिल बाकी l
