Brihaspati in the Hindu religion is the Guru or teacher of the Gods. In astrology he is known as the planet Jupiter. He stands for devotion, prayer.growth, expansion, wisdom. intelligence amongst various other qualities attributed to him.

This Aarti is recited mostly as the Aarti of Guru var or Thursday.
